TV Guide Review:

Well Cardassians everywhere.......if you haven't seen the latest addition of the Terran tv guide............

Inside you will find a small photo of Gul Dukat and Seska, complete with a little tidbit from the actors behind the character. Also, the pull out insert has all the villians of Star Trek dressed in black and holding tribbles. Of course, the famous Gul Dukat looks best in black and Seska gives one nasty look, holding tribbles in her hand.......

Of course, this fan would have liked to see a whole tv guide dedicated to Cardassians period.........but hey, you take what you can get!!!

"Detapa Council will vote tonight on alliance."

The Detapa Council is scheduled to vote tonight on a proposed alliance, with the Federation.
Gul Neacal and Tioboid Breit proposed an alliance in May. They said it would protect Cardassia from a Dominion attack.
Legate Parn has criticized the proposal, alleged it will make Cardassia weak and inferior to its enemies. He wants the Detapa Council to give power back to Central Command.

The people were undecided on the alliance. The growing separists group called "The True Way" denounced the proposal and sided in favor of Legate Parn. The True Way blames the Federation for Cardassia's current economic and political problems.
The Council meeting is scheduled for 18oo hours in Council chambers on the 4th floor of Lakat hall.
 

"Ferengi male charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance"

A Ferengi male was charged recently with criminal possession of a controlled substance, Cardassian military spokesperson said.  Dor, 17, of Fereginar, was tried before Cheif Archon Makbar and taken to the Lazon II labo camp.  The military was condusting searches on vessels entering their space when they discovered 64 bags of Tholian crack cocaine. The quadrant value of the cocaine was unavailable.
 

Response to Charges Made by Captain Benjamin Maxwell

     During a well publicised encounter between the United Federation of Planets and the Cardassian Central Command, certain charges were leveled against the Government of Cardassia, and its officers, by Captain Benjamin Maxwell. Captain Maxwell, of the USS Phoenix, a Nebula Class star- ship attacked and destroyed several supply ships, a research station and a Kelvin class Cardassian warship. The Captain was persued by another UFP starship, the USS Enterprise, under command of Captain Picard, with a team of Cardassian officers. I reveal no state secrets, when I add that I was one of the members of that team, and that I am fully qualified to address the charges which malign the good name and honorable intent of Cardassia, and the members of its government and military.
     Captain Maxwell attacked the science outpost, because he believed that the Cardassian military was beginning a military buildup with access to three Federation sectors. What he failed to realize was the nature of the experiments being undertaken at the facility, which were largely to study the effects of a type G3 star on the growth of certain grains used in Cardassian foodstuffs. As to his allegation, that the reason our supply ships were running with "high energy warp fields" was because we were using them to ship weapons. I respond by stating for the record that they were not. The reason that those supply ships were running with high energy warp fields is because the warp cores used were salvaged from decommissioned warships of the Cardassian fleet, which as a result of the costly war of attrition waged by the ungrateful Bajoran peoples, we were forced to retire. The warp cores which were still highly useable, and quite costly to replace were a bonus, or as the UFP is famed for touting, a "peace benefit", from our "war with the Bajorans".
     It was with heavy heart, that I returned to Cardassia to inform Central Command, that this misunderstanding by the UFP and its representative Captain Picard, would probably mean a protracted period of suspicion and mistrust between our people and theirs. An unfortunate incident during our time on board the Federation starship, served to further degrade the trust between our two peoples. As I look back on the incident, I have certain regrets, including the loss of my status, as a result of being the bearer of bad news to the Central Command. I feel however, that by clearing the air of the misconception, that the UFP has spread since this incident will allow Cardassians to hold their heads higher, and walk a little prouder, knowing the truth behind the UFP's campaign of disinformation. I would also state that the so-called "war with the Bajorans" is a great miscarriage of the truth by the UFP, and the ungrateful Bajoran people, but I will save that thought for my article.
 

Breen Homeworld Sends Out A Distress Signal

It was reported today that the Breen Government issued a distress call to the Federation on account of what appears to be "atmospheric collapse" on the Breen Homeworld. Citizens in the northern hemisphere have been quickly evacuating to the other side of the planet, in the hopes that the atmospheric units that regulate the Breen weather patterns, will remain stable. Breen Officials claim the Cardassian Empire is responsible for the collapse and are issuing a Degree of Penalty to be handed over to the reigning Dutapa Council through the representation of Federation officials. It has not been made known however, whether or not StarFleet will agree to the Degree of Penalty, which would require Cardassia to pay for all damages incured upon Breen after a thorough investigation. Prime Officials will be sent to discuss the situation with Federation and Breen Ambassadors, hoping for some light on this possible step by the Breen to threaten the Cardassian Empire.
