Seventh Order

Welcome to another edition of the Cardassian News Network!

Greetings all players,

I am writing to inform you that my main email address that you usually send your posts to is down temporarily and has been for four days or so. I haven't received any of your emails in that time. If you have any questions for me individually or want to forward any non game messages to me, you may use this address:

xavyre@capital.net--(No longer active)

Please keep sending your regular posts to my normal address unless they are being bounced back at you. I will eventually catch up with the volumes of posts when I am able to activate the other address again. Hopefully soon and in the words of my ISP "Any minute now."

Hydak Mynar

Organizational Changes

For the mean time, I would also like to announce to everyone that starting from this moment forward each ship has a different AGM (Assistant Game Manager). The AGM as you all know from reading the rather long "Guide to Posting Messages in the Seventh Order" is the person who guides the plots of each ship. Until this point I have been acting as both the GM (Game Manager) and the AGM for each ship except the Maksuun who had Gul Ardeth Hecat as it's AGM.

From this point forward each ship will be AGMed by it's commanding officer.

Deklar - Gul Macet - kbaldwin@PICA.ARMY.MIL--(No longer active)

Maksuun - Gul Zantec - remed2@aol.com

Ravek - Legate Kevron - hecat@7thorder.org

So if you have any questions that concern your ship, then please email your AGM / CO. In the future we hope to establish a larger staff so that the Commanding Officers can go back to just playing characters if they desire. But until then, I hope you join me in thanking them for taking on the added responsibility of AGM.

Projects in Progress

First one to mention would be Ardeth's web page. She is constantly developing and adding to it. Ardeth is still our Chief of Web Site operations and is the webmaster at the main Seventh Order web site. Check it out, because it gets changed almost weekly, if not daily.

http://www.7thorder.org/7THORD.HTM -- link no longer active

Note: Make sure you type the address exactly the way you see it above. For best results just paste it into your browser's address window from this message.

Speaking of web pages! The Seventh Order is also working on two more web pages for you players. Each of the three sites will be different in the way they look when they are done. All of them should be checked out! More information on these sites will be sent to you when it becomes available. If you have a web site based on your character from the game or if it has something to do with Cardassians, then forward the address to our Chief of Web Site Operations at: hecat@7thorder.org.

<Aside from Gul Hecat:  I have had a brief preview of the pages in progress, and I think that the Seventh Order will be most impressed with the work that has been done.  Each page has its own flavour and each brings you more information that will help make the world of the Seventh Order come to life.  The quality of the pages is excellent!  Stay tuned for more information. >

We'll link the site from the Seventh Order pages!

Gul Mynar - Promoted to Hydak

Recently, Kaylan Cor thought it prudent to promote this mild mannered Gul to a higher rank and with higher rank comes more responsibility of course. But now as Hydak (Commodore) Mynar, I can better server you the player in what you need because I have more resources at my disposal as both GM and in character as Tylam Mynar. I'd like to thank all of you for the congratulations that you sent my way.

Political Status - New Developments

Many of you have emailed me asking how the current events transpiring on Deep Space Nine concerning the change of government. Their will be no sudden change within the game, but a more gradual change. Also remember that Cardassia always stands alone, and if it must form temporary alliances with foreign powers to achieve it's goals, then it will only in an attempt to make a better future for all of Cardassia. Fear not the what you see on television, we in the military rarely deal with the actual government. We only take orders from our order commanders such as High Commander Kaylan Vil Cor. Cardassia will persevere!

We all like spoilers to different degrees. That's why I didn't give away to much plot in the above message. But below I will be giving away a little plot information for each of the ships on their current missions and I'll give you a sneak peak as to what is in store for them in future missions. If you don't like minor spoilers at all, then please skip by this section.

A quick note: All of the below plot twists may or may not be implemented. As we play in stories that are effectively written by 5-10 people, the plot could always end up changing.

Ship Updates - Current Missions and a Look at What's to Come

RAVEK:

The Ravek has had quite a bit of trouble since it started on this mission and in fact the trouble started even before the current mission. It all started with the former command legate's death and it went down hill from there. Since then, the crew found Maquis infiltrators within it's midst, and fought off a mutiny by several crew members who were actually agents of the Cardassian terrorist organization known as the "True Way." After the mutiny negotiations got underway again with the Klingon government to extend the peace treaty between Cardassia and the Klingon Empire only to be interrupted by several small devices that effectively cut all power on the ship. They were surmised to have been planted by the True Way agents before they were defeated. Currently the second round of negotiations are about to get under way.

Future:

In the near future the Ravek will attempt to complete it's treaty and to negotiate several more return trips by the Deklar and Maksuun to Jelgor III. The crew members of the Ravek have to watch out for angry Klingons in large warships.

Next Mission:

The next mission for the Ravek can be summed up in one word: "Dominion."

DEKLAR:

The Deklar. Flagship of the Seventh Order. The Deklar's first mission was to rescue several officers of the Seventh Order from the Breen home world who were captured while conducting covert missions. After that mission the Deklar arrived at DS9 where it took on an interesting passenger by the name of Kayla. A biologically engineered killing machine that came in the package of a little girl. She was very attached to Quchant and didn't want to be separated from him. Kayla was eventually dealt with during a fire fight that knocked her down a turbo lift shaft to her death.

Future:

The current mission has the Deklar accompanying ten Ukel class carriers and the Maksuun to Jelgor Three to exchange six prisoners to the Klingons for 100,000 Cardassian civilians stranded on Jelgor. Of course now the Deklar has to deal with such things as an extra 200,000 prisoners of war, a very infectious outbreak of Telerian Flu and a host of other problems such as angry Klingons. The Deklar will have to search for a cure to the flu while dealing with two fully armed Vor'cha class warships.

Next Mission:

The next mission for the Deklar has to do with a transporter accident. Nuff said on that!

MAKSUUN:

The Maksuun started out on a mission to investigate an anomaly near the Bajoran Wormhole. Once the crew arrived, they became involved in a cross time adventure that had some of the crewmembers switch places with their counterparts from the future. Some of the future officers were actually from alternate universes also, which just seemed to add to the chaos. The mission was eventually completed and all the officers were returned to their proper times and universes.

Future:

Currently the Maksuun is involved with the Deklar in the same mission mentioned above. Like the Deklar crew, the officers of the Maksuun, must figure out a way to save all of the civilians stranded on the planet and their commanding officer has the added burden of knowing his son is amongst the prisoners. In the future I see one of the Maksuun's officers subcoming to the deadly flu!

Next Mission:

The next mission for the Maksuun will involve first contact with a new prospective member of the Cardassian Union.

Well that's all I have time for now folks. These CNN reports are infrequent at best and only get done when I or Ardeth have lots of free time such as when our mail server goes down. So until next time Talsvar Kardassu!
