Benyool - The Dominion representative for the Seventh Order. Assigned to Felor Vi by the Founders.

Birel Kivar Dras - Ocean on Cardassia Prime that separates the continents of Mil Drelar and Pilus Nel. It’s waters also touch Tar Kedora.

Cardassia - A Class-M planet poor in natural resources, but in ancient times was home to a splendid civilization whose legendary ruins are still considered some of the most remarkable in the galaxy. Most of the archaeological treasures were plundered by starving Cardassians, as well as by the military, which sought funds for their war against the Federation.

Cardie - Derogatory term for Cardassians used by Starfleet personnel involved in the Great Patriotic War.

Cell - A room. In Lakat, the barracks are called cells, with a cell for each student. On a ship, the Gul’s ‘ready room’ is called the Command Cell. The officer quarters on ships and stations are also known as cells.

Central Authority - The current ruling body of the Cardassian Union under Gul Dukat.

Central Command - The former military ruling body of Cardassia.

Chief Archon/Archon - Equivalent to a Judge. He/she oversees court proceedings, listening to evidence brought forth by suspect's Conservator (lawyer).

CO - Commanding Officer

Conservator - Defense counsel. His/her role is to help criminals concede to the wisdom of the state and to prepare him/her to accept the inevitable-guilty verdict (execution).

Curvaut - A Class of Cardassian Executive Cruiser, Cardassia’s answer to the Federation’s Sovereign Class The Class Name Vessel is commanded by Gul Jasad.

Deklar - The Flagship of the Seventh Order. A Galor Class Cruiser. Commanded by Gul Hecat.

Dras - Ocean

Dri-Corder - A Cardassian Tri-Corder, Scanning device.

Fejan - A Javik Class Escort Vessel that was being constructed for Kaylan Vil Cor. The TRI organization commissioned the vessel, but it was taken by the Dukatian government when the TRI was outlawed and Cor was imprisoned.

Felor Vi - A modification on the Terok Nor design of Space Stations. Felor Vi is also the first Space station of that design. The station was commanded by the Honorable Command Legate Kevron until its destruction in battle.

First Hebitian Civilization - Ancient people of Cardassia. The burial vaults of the Hebitians were uncovered on Cardassia in the late 2160's. The tombs were said to be magnificent and were reputed to have been filled with many jeweled artifacts.

Galor - A Class of Cardassian Cruiser (Gah- LORE)

Galt - Equivalent to a Starfleet Lieutenant Junior Grade

Galt Rin - Equivalent to a Starfleet Lieutenant

Glinn - Equivalent to a Starfleet Lieutenant Commander

GM - Game Manager.  The Seventh Order is GM'd by Chad Stratton and Lynn Parr.

Gralik - A Class of Cardassian Battle Cruiser. Experimental technologies platform designed and commanded by Kaylan Mynar.

Great Patriotic War - The first war between the Federation and Cardassian Union (2361-2369). It is the name that the Cardassians refer to it as.

Gul - Equivalent to a Starfleet Captain

Gul Command Level - Is a sub rank of the Gul rank that denotes a Gul who has a command under him. A “Captain” of a vessel.

Gul Field Level - Is a sub rank within the Gul rank that denotes a Gul not in command of a vessel. Once you move up from Field Level Gul you will not be referred to as one again even if you lose your command.

Gul Aarik Maalik - Lakat Training Facility Commandant. A Command Level Gul.

Gul Ardeth Hecat - Commander of the Deklar.

Gul Elon Macet - Commander of the Rylok Nor station.

Gul Madel - A Gul in the former Obsidian Order who was in charge of Satellite Operations around Cardassia Prime.

Gul Noble Level - Is a sub rank of the Gul rank that denotes a Gul who gained his rank through family succession or was awarded the rank/title by the government. (A rare thing indeed.)

Gul Ayevar Yelar - Former Commander of the Maksuun.

Gul Kelas Zantek - Commander of the Maksuun.

Hedeki - A Class of Cardassian Patrol Scout Hedecki (HEH-deckie)

Hydak - Equivalent to a Starfleet Commodore

Hyvarian System - A populated planetary system located on the opposite side of Cardassia from the Federation.

Imfalinaar - The Betazoid word for Polyestechotine which exists naturally in the Ferengi parietal lobe. Also used around Hyvaria to block sensor readings and to repair the atmosphere.

Javik - A Class of Cardassian Diplomatic Escort Vessel

Jelgor III - A planet near the Cardassian / Federation border that was decimated by the Klingons during the war between the Cardassian Union and the Klingon Empire. Three hundred thousand civilians were placed into interment camps. A mission lead by the Deklar and the Maksuun managed to save one third of the civilians before they were ravaged by the Telerian Influenza. A small group of teenage Cardassians had formed one of several resistance groups. The teenagers were all the progeny of Guls who had dreams of resurrecting the Obsidian Order by using their own children as the new Order’s agents. The rebirth was halted by the gallant efforts of Gul Zantek and Galt Talgor.

Junior Legate - A diplomat apprenticing to a full Legate in order to become a Legate himself.

Junior Legate Lyris Rakahn - Junior Legate for the Ravek and Rylok Nor.

Jurvot - Equivalent to a Starfleet Lieutenant Commander.

Kalesari Dras - A Ocean that lies between Tar Kedora and Pilus Nel on Cardassia Prime

Kalvor Gredora - A Cardassia Space Station of the Third Order.

Kanar - A liquor, dark and very thick, almost syrupy

Kaylan - Equivalent to a Starfleet Admiral, except that their is only one per Order within the Cardassian Military.

Kaylan Vil Cor - High Commander of the Seventh Order.

Gul Tylam Mynar -  Vice Commander of the Seventh Order, commander of the Nassad.  Took the place of Kaylan Cor as High Commander of the Seventh Order during Cor's imprisonment.

Keldan - A Class of Cardassian Cruiser Keldan (KEHL-dan) - The Keldan-class warships owned and operated by the Obsidian Order are faster than standard issue to the Central Command. Also, Cardassian pursuit vessels were modified and reconfigured to carry Galor-class phaser banks.

Kelvin - A Class of Cardassian Cruiser

Korpaa - A troop carrier version of the Ukel Class

Ladar - A lady.

Lakat City - A city that is located on Lakat Island to the south of Pilus Nel. The City is known for it’s large amusement park and for the Seventh Order’s Lakat Training Facility just outside the city.

Lakat Training Facility - The Training Facility for all Seventh Order officer cadets.

Larish Pie - Cardassian food

Legate Vanar Kevron - Commander of the Ravek and Felor Vi, deceased.

Legate - A Diplomat or Legislator.

Listserv - A automated mailing service or list service. Players subscribe to Listservs to participate in or watch the games.

Leyvan - Equivalent to a StarFleet Lieutenant.

Majordomo - The program that runs the listserv on a remote server.

Maksuun - A Keldan Class Cruiser. Main mission is that of a scientific nature. Commanded by Gul Zantek.

Malaat - A medical / hospital ship version of the Ukel Class

Marnak - A Galor Class ship, commanded by Kaylan Vil Cor, High Commander of the Seventh Order.

Mil Drelar - A Continent in the western hemisphere on Cardassia Prime. Location of Prime City.

Milod Kel - A sea in-between Mil Drelar and Yandra on Cardassia Prime

Nassad - A Keldan Class Cruiser.  Commanded by Gul Mynar, Vice-Commander of the Seventh Order.

Nes’dra Kel - A sea east of Pilus Nel on Cardassia Prime.

Nestor - Legal counsel.

NPCs - Non Player Characters. NPCs are all the characters that are not Player’s characters.

Ofela - A Class of Cardassian Transport Vessels.  Smaller than a Ukel and more up to date.

PBeM - Play By e-Mail. Play by email is the method that the Seventh Order uses to play it’s games. Each players sends out an email to the listserv that describes what his character his saying or doing.

PC - Player Character. A Player Character is a character run by the player. It is their main character. Their persona.

Pilus Nel - A Continent in the eastern hemisphere of Cardassia Prime. Lakat City is located on Lakat Island off of the southern shore of Pilus Nel.

Political Officer - A officer assigned to each military installation or vessel that is charged with assuring military personnel follow government directives.

Prime City - Capital of Cardassia Prime and the Cardassian Union.

Primoras - A Galor Class Cruiser that was destroyed at the Battle of Felor Vi.

Pylus - Cardassian Galor of the Sixth Order commanded by Gul Rilta

Ravek - A Javik Class Diplomatic Escort Vessel attached to the space station Rylok Nor. The Ravek is commanded by the Gul Macet.

Red Leaf Tea - Common beverage

RPG - Role Playing Game. A game where players (you) pretend to be characters and interact with other player’s characters.

Rylok Nor - the next generation of space station to follow the Felor Vi type.  Currently commanded by Gul Macet.

Tritura - Female spouse, Beloved

Trituran - Male spouse.

Tulgryn - Equivalent to a Starfleet Commander, Note: Only one per vessel, the first officer

Tulgryn Altana Maket - First Officer on the Deklar.

Tulgryn Jatara Knight - First Officer on the Maksuun.

Tulgryn Valor Nurat - First Officer on the Marnak.

Ukel - A Class of Cardassian Transport Vessels. Aging class that has been repaired and upgraded more times that it should have been.

Unsubscribe - When someone leaves a listserv and no longer wishes to receive email from that listserv.

Vargus - A planetoid in the Federation side of the Badlands.

Vin’tkar - Class of Cardassian Experimental Phaser Cannon Platform Vessel.

Virlym - A Class of Cardassian Runabout Shuttle

Vole - Small, hairless creatures that infiltrate access conduits and chew on the wires, similar to rats. Raising them for fights in a frowned upon but popular past time. Voles have sharp fangs, six legs, and a long tail. They are approximately a half a meter long.

Yamok Sauce - A condiment
