1. Difference between Ukel, Kropaa and Malaat. All of the ships look alike physically and started out with the same basic design. The differences are according to mission and subsequent modifications.
3. In the file, the ships were identified by both hull number, and by name The first ship was Korpaa 298. It just happened that the Hull number and registry number were the same. As you can see this varies also from one ship to the next.
4. Each ship is divided port (left) and starboard (right) by a bulkhead (wall) which divides the ship in half, with pressure tight doors through the bulkhead. In addition, there are vertical bulkheads at ninety degrees to sub-compartmentalize the ship, in the event of an accident or disaster. This is similar to the partitions in an ice-cube tray and assures that if the hull is damaged in one area, that the entire ship is not put at risk. On typical Cardassian ships of this type, the machinery area is centralized for ease of maintenance, and structures such as bridge, environmental plant, and shuttle docking bays are modular to facilitate quick repair or replace- ment. Several of the ships listed in the file are the result of such field- expedient repair.
5. Due to the heavy losses by Cardassia during the recent war with
the Klingon Empire, the available resources have been taxed to the limits.
As a result for this mission, the Commanding officers (Guls) for the ships
have been commanders (Glinns) who have proved reliable and skilled enough
to handle the duties of running the ships. Please bear in mind that some
of these ships were stripped to keep others running, until they had to
be recalled for this mission.
