Reason for wanting to join the Cardassian Military:
To help return Cardassia to her former power and glory in the Alpha quadrant. Plus, with the death of her father and the disappearance of her brother Deisan felt that it was her duty to follow in her father's footsteps. Also, to help strengthen her family's honor after the disappearance of her brother when Cardassia called him to service.

Background:
Deisan was born in Lakarian City and was raised by her paternal grandparents as her parents were often unable to give the attention necessary to properly raising their children. Deisan resents the Dominion presence as they have little appreciation for the Cardassian way of life.
Her mother is stationed in the Science ministry on Caradassia 4 and as often as she can comes to visit her daughter. Deisan's father Glinn Torek Genor was often assigned to ships patrolling the demilitarized zone and rarely was able to visit his family. The entire family enjoys music and would often when gathered together perform music written by Cardassian composers. Emrik, Deisan's brother, vastly prefers music and poetry and is believed to have gone into hiding to avoid being drafted into the Cardassian military. This has been a source of embarrassment for the family, but Deisan flatly refuses to allow her brother's failure to serve deter her from her desire to serve Cardassian interests in the Military. Danril, Deisan's older sister lives in Cardassia city and pursues a career in interstellar communications.
