Race: Cardassian
Sex: Male Age: 30 Height: 5'11" Weight: 165 Eyes: Hazel Hair: Black Relatives: Father: Adren Tehnri (Deceased) Mother: Tanaja Getal (62) Siblings: Brother, Kanli Getal (25) Yelbrin/Science Officer: Upon graduation from Lakat Officer's Training Facility, Getal was posted as Science Officer to the DCS Erdani (formerly DCS Maksuun). Sent to the Cardassian space station Felor Vi near the Demilitarized Zone in order to rendezvous with the Erdani, Getal experienced firsthand the sudden shifts in fortune which come with a Fleet career. Due to an attempted insurrection by To'mas Cor that resulted in considerable damage to Seventh Order ships, Getal was left on Felor Vi on a temporary basis until he could join up with the Erdani. During that time he made a favorable impression with Legate Kevron who commanded the space station and was transferred there on a permanent basis. He was to remain upon Felor Vi until the station's eventual destruction by Klingon forces. Galt/Political Officer: After convalescing from injuries sustained while aiding civilians trapped upon the station's promenade during the attack, Getal was promoted to Galt and transferred to the DCS Kobrys (formerly DCS Deklar) as the ship's Political Officer--despite what might be regarded as an unfavorable background for such a post under the Dominion government. Later, he discovered that Gul Mynar had been responsible for finessing his assignment. Glinn to Jurvot: As PO for the Kobrys, Getal has enjoyed an antagonistic relationship with Gul Hecat, the ship's commander. He orchestrated a purge of political dissidents aboard the ship that resulted in the execution of fifteen officers and crewmen, and the probation of many more, including Ari Nurat, the Operations officer and sister of Kaylan Nurat, head of the 7th Order. His political star has risen with the Directorate, as well as with certain other factions on Cardassia, and he is intent on maintaining that advantage. He has also clandestinely begun an investigation that would not please his Dominion superiors, and is cultivating alliances that would likewise tarnish his otherwise shining career, if such activities were known. He has worked carefully to make certain they are not, and to maintain plausible deniability if they are found out. He is currently on detached duty, on co-assignment with Gul Hecat to Archellius. Rumor has it, their engagement was announced at the former TRI Hall there. Early History: Getal's father was a junior operative for the Order, married at an early age to Tanaja Getal, youngest daughter of an influential TRI family, holders of a kanar estate southeast of Lakarian City. The marriage was not a happy one, although Getal was ignorant of that fact as a child. Getal grew up with only infrequent visits by his father and next to no idea what his father's true duties were, as most of Adren's work was classified. As a result, Getal spent his childhood inventing heroic stories about his father's adventures in Federation space. Getal idolized his father and thought of him as a daring spy, rather than a minor politician. He decided at a young age to follow in Adren's footsteps. However, his attitude suffered a change when he was twelve years old and his father returned from Federation space with the announcement that he had fallen in love with a human female. He sought a marriage annulment from Tanaja, believing that she would rather let him go quietly than let it be known her husband had left her for an outworlder. The announcement tore the family apart. Tanaja went to the Directorate with news of her husband's infidelity. He was taken forcibly from his home and arrested on charges of treason; it was alleged he had given proprietary information over to the human woman, and that the woman was in fact a Federation operative. Whether or not this was true was immaterial. His guilt was decided, and the trial began, ending with an edict of execution. As the oldest male child of direct descent, Getal was required to read the family's renunciation of all ties with his father immediately prior to the public execution; the family abandoned Adren's last name, taking the matrilineal name "Getal" to distance itself from scandal. Getal has spent the rest of his life trying to live down the stigma of having a father who turned traitor. He had joined his local TRI-Youth Chapter shortly before his father's execution. At University, Getal rose through the student ranks to become the president of the campus chapter by his third year. Although his primary focus of study was in the biological sciences, midway through his schooling Getal decided to parley his TRI affiliations into a career in politics. Like many before him, he regarded gaining admission to the Obsidian Order's Political Officer Training Corps as a logical first step. Getal applied for the training facility at Lakat to gain the military experience he would require. However, before he could do much more than lay the groundwork for his ambition, the Obsidian Order launched an offensive against the Dominion and was decimated in the attempt; shortly afterward the Detapa Council was overthrown and the Dominion itself came to control Cardassia. Getal hastily renounced his TRI affiliations when it became clear that the traditional organization was now in political disfavor and switched his emphasis at Lakat back to the sciences. This decision cost him the trinulla with a young woman named Soren who had worked with him in the TRI Student Chapter at University. |
