Background:
She can never please her father. When she tries she's always disappointed. Her father only cares about his sons and their achievements. Father and older brother physically and mentally abused her and her mother. When her mother died, her father turned her and her younger brother over to an Aunt to raise. He never came to see her only to see her younger brother. Never called or sent her presents to her on her birthday. The few times he had promised to see her or take her somewhere, he did not
keep. He didn't even attend her graduation where she got the highest honors in mechanics. Ashalna only sees and maintains contact with her younger brother Yerffej. She has given up on having any kind of relationship with her father or older brother.
